Overview:
This hands on course provides students already familiar with Windows 2000 and Active Directory the knowledge and skills they need to perform administrative duties for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional systems. Students learn to configure and maintain the new features of the server operating system, ensuring server security and supporting remote users.

Learn To:

  • Plan, design, and implement Microsoft Windows Server 2003 solutions and architectures in medium to large sized companies.
  • Implement and administer Active Directory in a corporate environment with a large number of users spanning several physical locations.
  • Implement network services and applications leveraging the benefits of Microsoft technologies for connecting information, people, systems and devices.


Objectives:

  • Identify the tasks involved in supporting Windows Server 2003 networks
  • Understand how networking concepts are implemented in Windows Server 2003
  • Configure Microsoft Windows Server 2003 on stand-alone computers and on client computers that are part of a workgroup or domain
  • Install and Configure Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional
  • Install, configure, manage and support a network infrastructure that uses Microsoft Windows Server 2003
  • Install, configure and administer the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Active Directory service
  • Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to design a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 directory services infrastructure
  • Understand the strategies to design the Active Directory structure of an organization, and then design the Active Directory structure to meet those needs
  • Gain skills needed to create a networking services infrastructure design that supports the required network applications
  • Learn network solution technologies, including: DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, RIS, IIS and RRAS
  • Identify and implement security for a corporate network using technologies such as EFS, Group Policy, Certificates and IPSec


Gain the knowledge and skills needed to design a security framework for small, medium, and enterprise networks by using Microsoft Windows Server 2003 technologies
