Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) - Windows Server 2003

Overview:
The MCSA certification is for professionals who maintain, manage, and troubleshoot existing networks and system environments based on the Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating systems. Administrators typically do not deploy new networks and systems as part of their job function, as is expected of individuals holding the MCSE credential. Unlike MCSEs, MCSAs are not expected to have design skills.

Learn To:

  • Install, Configure and Administer Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003
  • Implement and administer Active Directory in a corporate environment with a large number of users spanning several physical locations.
  • Implement and administer network services and applications leveraging the benefits of Microsoft technologies for connecting information, people, systems and devices.


Objectives:

  • Identify the tasks involved in supporting Windows Server 2003 networks
  • Understand how networking concepts are implemented in Windows Server 2003
  • Configure Microsoft Windows Server 2003 on stand-alone computers and on client computers that are part of a workgroup or domain
  • Install and Configure Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional
  • Install, configure, manage and support a network infrastructure that uses Microsoft Windows Server 2003
  • Install, configure and administer the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Active Directory service
  • Learn network solution technologies, including: DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, RIS and RRAS
  • Implement security solutions including EFS, Group Policy and IPSec
